Yorkshire headquartered sustainable heating manufacturer Trust Electric Heating has extended its partnership with the University of Huddersfield with a new 3-year Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP).
KTPs enable businesses to collaborate with graduate or postgraduate students at a university or research institution, and Trust Electric Heating has been working with the University of Huddersfield since 2019.
This latest extension of their partnership will see new product innovations tested in the university’s ‘Smart House’ research facility, with a view to continually improving the efficiency of Trust Electric Heating products, and ensuring claims made about the products are backed by independent scientific research.
Trust has teamed up with research and development engineer, and KTP associate, Ruhail Gulzar for this project. Ruhail’s objectives are to turn a key strategic innovation idea into reality, manage a real-world project and implement strategic development within an innovative company.
As well as supporting Ruhail’s continued development, the partnership will provide students and researchers at the university with industry experience and the opportunity to make real-world contributions to the field of electric heating. Trust Electric Heating MD Fiona Conor expects the partnership will also have a significant impact on the electric heating industry:
“This partnership will allow us to stay at the forefront of technological advancements and improve the efficiency and performance of our products. One of the key benefits for our customers will be the development of new, research-backed technologies and techniques for electric heating that will result in more energy-efficient systems, leading to lower energy costs for consumers.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with the University of Huddersfield on this exciting initiative. By combining our expertise and resources, we are confident that we will be able to drive innovation and improve the efficiency of electric heating systems. We look forward to working with Ruhail and the Smart House team to make this happen.”
Professor Rakesh Mishra from the University of Huddersfield says, “This partnership is a great example of how industry and academia can work together to drive innovation and improve the efficiency of technology. I’m sure it will result in many benefits for both parties.”
