Gaia celebrates 35 years as a leader in underfloor heating solutions

Gaia is commemorating 35 years of excellence in designing, supplying, and installing underfloor heating systems across the UK and Ireland.

Founded in 1989 as DEVI, Gaia has undergone substantial growth in both personnel and facilities, establishing itself as a trusted provider in the industry. The company was acquired by global leader Danfoss in 2003, and in 2010, it rebranded as Gaia Climate Solutions Ltd following a management buy-out.

Steven Rooney, Director of Gaia, remarked, “We’re proud to have become an established and well-recognised provider of underfloor heating. Trusted by architects, contractors, M&E consultants, builders, and developers nationwide, clients come to us for our expertise, dependability, and friendly approach—qualities that have fostered many valuable relationships over the past 35 years.”

Over the years, Gaia has expanded its offerings, evolving from a focus solely on electric underfloor heating to providing comprehensive solutions that include both electric and wet systems. The company has also enhanced its operational capabilities, launching an Operations Team and introducing on-site Contract Managers to oversee project execution effectively.

Today, Gaia offers a complete underfloor heating package, covering everything from system design to supply and installation, coupled with exceptional after-sales service to ensure client satisfaction from project inception to completion.

“Here at Gaia, we are passionate about offering a personal service, from recommending the right system to addressing any queries throughout the project and beyond. Whether it’s a commercial or residential development, a refurbishment or new build, our capable team is always on hand to find the most suitable solution for the project,” Steven added.

In celebrating this significant milestone, the company acknowledges its dedicated employees, many of whom have been with Gaia for over 20 years. Chris Alecock, fellow Director of Gaia, expressed, “Our success wouldn’t have been possible without them, and I’m honoured to be part of the Gaia family. After 35 years, we are still delivering exceptional service as a team, and we’re all excited about the next 35!”

Gaia’s extensive portfolio includes a wide range of commercial projects and large-scale residential developments, having worked on prestigious sites such as The Shard, One Hyde Park, Center Parcs, and Canterbury Cathedral. They also completed the largest electric project in 15 years at Eight Gardens, Watford.

As the UK’s preferred underfloor heating partner, Gaia has collaborated with leading housing developers, including Taylor Wimpey and Telford Homes.

“Whatever the scale of the project—residential or commercial—we have built a trusted reputation for designing, supplying, and installing wet and electric underfloor heating. With 35 years of experience, and as demand for energy-efficient heating continues to rise, we’re ideally positioned to provide the solutions architects and developers seek,” Steven concluded.
