Lovell kicks off Charity Partnership

Lovell Partnerships, a leading construction company renowned for its commitment to community engagement, has raised an impressive £4,450 as it kicks off its latest charity partnership with The Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease.

The Rob Burrow Centre, a beacon of hope and progress in the fight against motor neuron disease (MND), is a testament to the resilience and determination of those confronting this debilitating condition. Named after the renowned rugby league star Rob Burrow, the centre will play a pivotal role in advancing research, care, and support for individuals and families affected by MND.

Lovell announced The Rob Burrows Centre as their charity partner earlier this year as part of the region’s two-year partnership initiative.

One of the leading fundraising activities was Lovell Graduate Land Buyer Jake Adams’s tackling of The Rob Burrow Marathon.

This was Jake’s first marathon, which he took two months to prepare for. Despite being his first marathon, he completed it in an impressive 4 hours and 44 minutes. Jake rallied support from friends, family, colleagues, and the wider community, raising an incredible £2,025. Each pound raised will contribute directly to the vital work of the Rob Burrow Centre, offering hope and assistance to those living with MND. Jake explained:

“I am incredibly grateful for the support and generosity of everyone who donated. Taking on this challenge meant a lot to me, not just on a personal level but as a challenge to raise as much as I could for The Rob Burrow Centre and the MND appeal. I have to admit, tackling my first marathon was certainly nerve-wracking, as it was a spur-of-the-moment decision to enter. However, crossing that finish line, I couldn’t help but feel proud!”

Robert Adams, Regional Managing Director, added:

“We are incredibly humbled by the overwhelming support received from both our employees and the wider community in our efforts to support the Rob Burrow Centre. We look forward to continuing our shared mission of positively impacting the lives of those affected by motor neurone disease.”

Following the marathon’s fundraising success, Lovell hosted its annual charity football day, bringing together Lovell employees and contractors to battle it out on the pitch. The event was a success, bringing the total fundraising amount to £2,200.

Throughout the first quarter of the year, various internal fundraising schemes at the regional head office have raised a further £225, bringing the total for the year so far to over £4,000.

As part of their ongoing partnership, Lovell has lined up a series of fundraising events throughout the year to benefit The Rob Burrow Centre.
