Designer Contracts – leading supplier of showhome interiors, furniture, floorcoverings, curtain and lighting packages to the housebuilding industry – has strengthened its position with a merger and investment in new equipment.
Kamar Flooring will be merging into Designer Contracts, and bringing with it a loyal customer base of housebuilders to which it has been supplying carpet and vinyl flooring since 1987.
The move comes at the end of a year in which Designer Contracts has extended its market share in the UK and invested around £100,000 in expanding their state-of-the-art automated cutting machinery and racking at its central distribution facility in Corby.
Designer Contracts managing director Peter Kelsey said: “Kamar Flooring is a great fit with our existing framework and structure, and we look forward to working closely with our new customers.
We operate from 10 regional offices to ensure we give customers the best possible level of personal service. New customers coming to us from Kamar Flooring can expect to be looked after from enquiry to installation and beyond by one manager and their dedicated team. “
With Cheltenham Interiors having done so last December, Kamar Flooring becomes the second company within a year to have merged into the fast expanding Designer Contracts.
Kamar Flooring director Richard Croucher and his fellow directors will be staying on with Designer Contracts in a consultancy capacity to ensure smooth transfer of business for their customers.
