Happiness and relaxation are the biggest takeaways, say Skipton Building

Skipton Building

According to a study commissioned by Skipton Building, a night in with a takeaway and relaxing in the garden are among Britain’s top 50 ‘Happiest Places’.

The study revealed that eight out of ten Brits have a happy place to escape the stress of everyday life, with more than half admitting they need a place to relax and unwind. Incredibly happy with his new home is Mark Porteous (48), who has recently downsized from a five-bedroom house and is now enjoying his new life in a two-bedroom home at Inland Homes’ development, Jasmine Park in Ipswich, Suffolk.

Mark, a water tank driver, had recently separated and was looking for somewhere smaller to live: “Before I moved into my new home in Jasmine Park, I lived in Rendlesham, about 12 miles away in a five-bedroom detached house. Since the separation, I have been looking for a place to call my own and visited many properties but was left rather disappointed after the viewings.  Initially I was averse to buying a new build, that was until the estate agent showed me Jasmine Park and I was immediately sold!”

“This move has been driven by my need to relocate, but I didn’t quite expect to find myself so cheerful and Jasmine Park has definitely been part of this. I was originally looking for a three-bedroom home, but actually I have bought a two-bed as it is a much better fit for me on my own.  This allows me enough space for when either of my daughters come to visit. I am just thrilled with my new home; it has a lovely layout and the build quality is outstanding.”
