Lovell works with Cardiff Capital Region to provide graduate opportunities

Lovell

Lovell has recently welcomed a Swansea University graduate to the team as part of a Cardiff Capital Region (CCR) Graduate Scheme to link talented graduates with ambitious businesses in South Wales.

22-year-old Chloe Akerman has joined the partnerships housebuilder as a graduate bidwriter coordinator, with an undergraduate degree in History, as well as a masters degree in International Journalism.

During her time at Lovell, Chloe has been writing and submitting bids, working closely with the land and partnerships team to produce high-quality bid submissions to win contracts across the region.

The CCR Graduate Scheme aims to provide paid graduate level employment alongside a fully-funded professional qualification delivered by the University of South Wales as well as on-hand support during the internship and networking opportunities with fellow graduates.

As part of the CCR Graduate Scheme, Chloe attends monthly lectures and completes coursework in her spare time, working towards a qualification in leadership and management.

Chloe said: “I have never before felt so welcomed going into a new job. Lovell has been extremely accommodating and I feel comfortable to ask for advice or help whenever I need it.

“I love that I am always learning new things and I spend each day working on something different. I hadn’t previously considered working as a bidwriter but after working with clients in the construction industry I knew that this was of interest to me and I had heard lots of great things about Lovell as an employer.

“I’m very keen to work towards progressing my role at Lovell and defining my skillset and hope to use everything I’ve learnt one day and to begin developing properties and build my own portfolio.”

Gemma Clissett, regional partnerships director at Lovell, said: “Chloe is the second graduate we’ve recently welcomed to the land and partnerships team as part of the CCR graduate scheme and we’re thrilled to be able to provide numerous graduate opportunities within Wales.”
