Athena Surfaces Expands to Larger Facility

Athena Surfaces, a leading provider of premium kitchen worksurfaces and porcelain tiles, has successfully transitioned its operations to a significantly larger facility.

The move, driven by rapid growth and the need for expanded production capabilities, marks the next stage in the company’s development.

Previously operating from a site that had become congested due to high demand and operational success, Athena Surfaces recognised the need for a larger space to sustain its trajectory. The new factory is four times the size of the previous location, providing ample room for current operations and anticipated future growth over the next five to 10 years.

The transition to the new facility was executed with remarkable efficiency. In just one week, all machinery and office furniture were relocated, minimising downtime and ensuring a seamless continuation of services and surfaces for Athena’s clients. This swift move underscores the company’s commitment to maintaining high service standards whilst scaling its operations.

The expanded facility not only accommodates the increased demand but also enhances Athena Surfaces’ ability to innovate and deliver high-quality products. This now includes large format porcelain, a product that was out of reach for many in the past, but with Athena’s new facility they’re able to bring down manufacturing costs: offering porcelain worktops at quartz worktop prices.

The new space allows for more advanced machinery, streamlined production processes, and improved logistics, ultimately benefiting their clients in the house building industry with fast turnaround times, even higher standards of quality and higher volumes of surfaces and tiles.

“We’re so excited to have moved to the Berkeley Business Park in Worcester. The amount of room we have will allow us to really stretch our legs and increase our production whilst also adding new quality assurance stations,” said Adam Miles, Managing Director at Athena Surfaces.

“This move is a huge investment in our business and our people as well as Worcester and the wider area. It provides us with the capacity to enhance our production capabilities and continue delivering exceptional products to housebuilders across the UK.”

The new facility represents a significant milestone for Athena Worksurfaces, positioning the company for continued success and expansion. By investing in their infrastructure, Athena is not only meeting the current market demands but also paving the way for future innovations and advancements in the home construction sector.
