NHBC Health and Safety Awards winners have been announced

The best in health and safety management was honoured July 4

The best in health and safety management was honoured July 4 at NHBC’s 2014 Health and Safety Awards. Kirk Raine from David Wilson Homes scooped the National Award in the Large builder category.

In the Medium builder category, Max Perrin from Kier was crowned national winner. The Kier Group of companies swept the board in all of the regional categories of the Medium builder Award.

Craig Shankley of Dawn Homes was hailed Regional and National winner in the Small builder category. And Darren Eyles from Crest Nicholson South West was champion of the Multi-storey builder category.

A Special Judges’ Recognition Award was presented to the HBF Health and Safety Committee for 20 years of sharing health and safety best practice.

Other Special Awards went to Stewart Milne Group for Health and Safety Strategic Leadership and to Clare Walker from Bellway Homes for Specialist Leadership. Lend Lease bagged the award for Best Occupational Health Initiative.

Highly Commended gongs went to housebuilders including Barratt, Mactaggart & Mickel, Berkeley Homes, Scotia Homes and Redrow.

The NHBC Health and Safety Awards, established in 2009, were held at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham, with sporting legend Sir Clive Woodward as guest speaker.
