A blossoms themed bedroom is among the local influences inside a new show home in Poynton hitting the right notes with buyers.
Elan Homes enlisted The Design House to dress the five-bedroom, three-bathroom Grantham at the popular Hazelfields development on Hazelbadge Road.
The generously proportioned, double-fronted property offers 1,773 sq ft of carefully considered living space set out over three floors. It’s providing interior inspiration, and a taste of what life could be like for buyers at the Elan Homes development.
Elan regional sales and marketing director Marie Morris said: “We want the whole family to feel involved and inspired when viewing our show homes and that’s certainly the case with our latest show home in Poynton. It’s full of local influences including a bedroom perfect for a fan of indie rockers Blossoms from nearby Stockport.”
Explaining about the inspiration behind the show home style, Nina Souter, lead interior designer at The Design House, said: “We’ve been mindful of the locality and subtly made references throughout the show home design. The Grantham lends itself to an established family, so on the top floor we wanted to create a teenage zone, giving both bedrooms on this level a strong identity. One of these bedrooms is designed for a music lover and references local band Blossoms with lyrics from their hit Charlemagne on the wall. The other has subtle sports references in recognition of the sporting facilities nearby and includes a distinctive cartoon pencil style wallpaper.”
On the ground floor of the Grantham there’s a dual aspect lounge, with French doors opening out onto the rear garden on one side of the hallway. On the other side, is a combined kitchen, dining and family room, also benefitting from direct access to the garden via French doors. A practical utility and convenient cloakroom complete the ground floor.
“We’ve tried to style the Grantham so that it feels aspirational, while remaining inviting and homely. The classic panelling to walls, rich colour palette and timeless furniture pieces depict strong design and quality throughout,” Nina added.
Even the cloakroom has been given the style treatment, with a playful wooded design feature wallpaper with cute little birds dotted here and there to reflect the nearby nature reserves and parks.
Three bedrooms, one with en-suite, plus the family bathroom are on the first floor.
“We designed a children’s bedroom and used a wallpaper called ‘Welcome to the Village’ which depicts village life with rolling hills behinds,” Nina said. “We thought it was a nice nod to Poynton itself and the surrounding rural area.”
Current availability at Hazelfields includes everything from one-bedroom apartments to five-bedroom detached homes, with prices from £269,995 to £769,995.
