Smart, Sustainable Access to All Areas of the Home

Stiltz Homelifts provides insights into the latest innovations in accessible and sustainable homelifts, including the Duo and Trio Range

As the drive to future-proof our homes continues many homeowners and developers are prioritising design solutions which make properties age-agnostic, and support ageing in place. It’s important older or less mobile individuals can have access to the same property options as the younger or able-bodied.

Traditionally, single level living in bungalows and later-living or sheltered apartments has always been the mainstay of choice for those who aren’t able to manage stairs. However, with the recent rise of compact, beautifully-designed homelifts like those from Stiltz, homeowners now have a smarter option to enable them to stay in the home they love.

Unlike commercial lifts or stairlifts, which often present aesthetic and ergonomic drawbacks, a Stiltz Homelift is purpose-built for the home environment. It’s modular, compact, and good-looking, making it easy to integrate into new builds or self-build projects. For interiors remodelling it’s perfect for retro-fitting into existing spaces.

A Stiltz can be installed without complex electrical work as all models in the range use a standard plug to run from their own domestic power socket. The homelift travels up and down quietly on self-supporting rails – or stilts – and building preparation typically involves creating a simple aperture and reinforcing surrounding joists if needed. For those not ready to install a lift immediately, builders can design a concealed space, free of joists and service feeds, so the lift can be slotted in at a later date.

This flexibility is a major advantage for developers and self-builders looking to add long-term value by futureproofing homes without altering the much-needed, modern-day family layout.

With an ageing population, the resale value of homes with homelift capability is on the rise, appealing to a growing segment of conscious buyers who wish to remain part of a community comprising different age groups.

The Duo Range

This compact homelift is perfect for ambulant users. The Stiltz Duo is the smallest model, measuring just over a metre wide and less than 76cm deep – the size of a small armchair. The Duo is ideal for one or two users, depending on weight limits.

Duo+ benefits from a contemporary, understated design with choice of soft, warm grey or fresh white finish. The lift car has clear polycarbonate sides giving a light and open feel.

The Duo Classic is cream-coloured and the lift car has solid sides. It offers a cost-effective entry point to domestic homelift ownership.

The Trio Range

If there’s a need for a larger lift, the Trio+ offers a longer lift car, accommodating up to three standing persons, or one standard wheelchair user. At 1.24m long, it shares the same 1.04m width as the Duo but provides added space and accessibility with its gently-ramped access.

Like Duo, the Trio+ also features full-height light curtains, emergency stop button, safety sensors top and bottom, and a built-in phone for added peace-of-mind. Trio+ is available in white or grey, with options for ThruCar access and powered doors.
