The integration of technology is an increasingly important element of any new build or renovation project. From basic lighting control to fully automated ‘smart homes’ Architects and specifiers can not only meet the aspirations of their end-users but also provide their developers and investors with a unique selling point that sets their development apart from others in a crowded marketplace. Multi-award winning custom install company Finite Solutions has at their disposal the largest integrated showhome in the UK, by offering the opportunity to experience a variety of systems first hand their clients can feel confident that their investment in this type of technology is money well spent.

The building itself is an imposing Victorian house, the intricate detailing both inside and out presented a challenge when deciding how best to integrate 21st Century technology into a 19th Century property. It was considered absolutely essential to remain true to the building’s original style and the finished article is testament to Finite Solutions’ fastidious approach to installations of any size and type. Not one indication of the extensive network of wiring is evident and much of the ‘front-end’ technology such as speakers and displays are also
discretely hidden by clever automated solutions from picture lifts raising to reveal screens, to advanced ‘hidden panel’ systems that allow the TV to emerge from behind a decorative panelled wall combined with a drop down projector and screen that emerge from the ceiling.

The house features a Crestron control system that seamlessly integrates control of the lighting, security and CCTV, heating and of course the essential multi-room audio systems, media sever and each of the three bespoke home cinemas. The system is accessible from anywhere in the world via a computer or iPhone/Pad making it a particularly attractive solution for clients with second properties. In order to make working alongside Finite Solutions as easy as possible the company offers a complete turn-key service from the initial concept, through detailed CAD and 3D renderings, site surveys including acoustic appraisals right the way through to the installation, project management and fine tuning of the system for the end-user.

As CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association) members Finite Solutions clients can be confident that the company’s approach and working practices are of the highest standard within the industry. Another benefit of CEDIA membership is the ability to
provide RIBA approved CPD courses to Architects and other design professionals. The curriculum is specifically designed to provide a solid knowledge base for professionals to talk with confidence about the options available to their clients and also carefully consider the necessary requirements for a successful installation from the start of a project.

Matt Wayne, Design Consultant for Finite Solutions comments: “We are seeking to encourage all of our partners within the design and construction industry to carefully consider the merits of pre-wiring their developments for future technologies, considering the comparatively negligible cost of the work involved the benefits of marketing a ‘future ready’ home are clear to see.” The Finite Solutions showhouse is by appointment only, the design team are happy to arrange individual or group appointments for both professionals and end users alike.
