Wondrwall appoints new CCO

Wondrwall, one of the UK’s intelligent home technology providers, has appointed Steve Young as its new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) to spearhead its ambitious sustainable housing growth plans.

The appointment comes shortly after Wondrwall secured a £100 million investment programme to support the next phase of its expansion across Britain, as the company rapidly scales up its ground-breaking home energy management and decarbonisation solution. This investment bolsters Wondrwall’s potential to support the UK’s journey to net zero by 2050 and unlocks the potential to expand its footprint to over 100,000 net-zero energy homes, both in the UK and on the global stage.

Steve Young has been appointed as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), joining from Strom as National New Build Director and, previously, leading Ideal Heating’s New Build team, concentrating on national and regional housebuilders, responsible for delivering market-leading gas boiler and radiator sales. His arrival marks a personal step away from individual heating products into a role focused on delivering a fully integrated solution for sustainable UK housing.

In his new role as CCO, Young will use his nearly 40 years of domestic heating technology experience to drive new business development and strategic partnerships with UK housebuilders. He will focus on helping the Wondrwall team rapidly scale the rollout of Wondrwall’s innovative home energy management system across new housing developments nationwide to make intelligent net zero energy living accessible in all new-build homes.

Daniel Burton, CEO and Founder of Wondrwall, said: “I’m thrilled to welcome Steve to the team. His proven commercial track record, alongside over 40 years of heating industry experience, makes him perfectly placed to drive rapid uptake of our transformative home energy management systems.

“We are wholly focused on accelerating the UK’s journey towards net zero by making our homes more intelligent, efficient, and responsive. Our innovative solutions lower the barriers for homeowners to decarbonise and can significantly reduce household energy bills at a time when it matters most. The potential for all new builds to benefit is huge. To put it simply, there is no reason why all new properties tomorrow can’t be intelligent, net-zero energy homes.

I am determined to leave the planet in a better place than its current state and with a brighter future. Hiring a team that shares that drive and vision will help us accelerate our ambitions. Steve is a brilliant asset and key to this goal. I am looking forward to working alongside him.”

Wondrwall’s award-winning, AI-powered home energy management system creates highly energy-efficient homes which adapt to their occupants’ energy needs. The appointment of Steve Young marks the first key hire since the £100 million investment was announced, a programme of investment that will allow the business to invest heavily in people and technology over the next 12 months as part of the business’s growth strategy.

Steve Young, Chief Commercial Officer at Wondrwall, commented: “I’m excited to be joining Wondrwall at such a pivotal moment in its growth journey. Its innovative home energy technology is reshaping the future of housebuilding in Britain for the better. I look forward to working closely with major UK housebuilders to accelerate the adoption of these transformative sustainable solutions.”
