UPOWA launches 3 new operational regions

Brickability Group PLC’s sustainable technology experts UPOWA announces the opening of three new operational regions in the South West, Midlands and East Anglia to accelerate growth to meet rising demand for its high-quality solar PV, battery storage and EV charging solutions.

The strategic move marks the next step in UPOWA’s expansion plans as it aims to help more housing developers and businesses meet sustainability targets with its one-stop shop solution, supporting the transition to net-zero.

It follows on from a record-breaking year for UPOWA. Along with the appointment of a new Managing Director, Sales Director, and Finance Director, 2023 saw national solar PV partnerships forged with leading housebuilder’s Barratt Developments, Taylor Wimpey, and Redrow.

UPOWA’s presence in the South West will be strengthened with the opening of a new operational depot in Exeter, which will support projects in Devon, Bristol, Somerset, and Cornwall. Further growth into the Midlands and Eastern regions will be driven thanks to new depots in Sutton Coldfield and Bury St. Edmunds. Establishing these new regional divisions will enable UPOWA to provide a local service supported with the robust resources of a national contractor, backed by Brickability Group PLC.

Paul Terry, Managing Director at UPOWA commented:

“I am delighted to press go on the next stage of our growth strategy, opening three new operational regions. It will enable us to meet the growing sustainability needs of our customers and wider industry.

Having a regional focus will allow to train and develop a skilled workforce from the local community, tackling the green skills shortage, while future-proofing our delivery capabilities.”

More than 30 new jobs have been created, bolstering UPOWA’s end-to-end capabilities and distribution network. Each depot will let us create a strong regional approach with experienced management running from each location.

Technical Design and Support, Product and Sales functions will continue to be based at UPOWA’s headquarters in Whiteley. While all programming, scheduling and aftercare will be managed from its operational hub in Lee-on-the Solent. With 188 years of combined renewable, electrical and roofing experience, the Operations Team will be perfectly placed to support each of the regional depots to ensure the highest standards of installation, quality and safety.

James Bull, Founder & Sales Director at UPOWA added:

“I’m extremely proud to see UPOWA officially open 3 new operational depots. We have seen record sales over the last year, and the new depots will further accelerate our growth plans. It will allow us to employ locally, while maintaining high stock levels in strategic locations.

This investment demonstrates UPOWA’s commitment and ability to scale and support our customers with the rising demand for our sustainable technology solutions.”

To make positive steps in reducing company carbon emissions in line with Brickability Group’s ESG targets, each operational depot will hold stock locally. This will guarantee smooth and efficient material delivery by UPOWA’s network of Installation Teams.

The targeted expansion will also create great opportunities for local employment within the fast-growing renewables industry, attracting more local talent in each region. This is a key factor in UPOWA’s strategy to future-proof its workforce and up-skill more qualified electricians and roofers to become trained to install solar panels, battery storage and EV chargers.
