Uppingham land purchase paves the way for much-needed new homes

Davidsons Homes has now completed the purchase on the plot of land to the north of Leicester Road in Uppingham. The site benefits from Outline Planning Permission for a mixture of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes, including 30 per cent affordable properties.
The plot of land has been earmarked for development as part of the Uppingham Town Council Neighbourhood Plan, which was set up to give local people and businesses a unique opportunity to influence the development and evolution of their own community.
James Burnham, Managing Director for Davidsons Homes South Midlands, said: “Following the ongoing success of our Oakham Pastures development just a few miles down the road, this site represents a further opportunity for us to bring our thoughtful design and characterful homes to Rutland.”
Rachel Pramayon, Land Director for Davidsons Homes South Midlands, said “We will be liaising with Uppingham Town Council to get feedback from local people on our plans ahead of submitting our Reserved Matters Submission, ensuring that the mixture of homes reflects the needs of the local community.
“Uppingham is a high quality location focused around a historic, vibrant town with a weekly market, antiques shops, art galleries, boutique shops and characterful restaurants. We are very proud of the homes we build and we’re excited to bring them to such a wonderful town.”
