33 UK site managers have been named as Regional Award winners at events which took place throughout the autumn in the third round of NHBC Pride in the Job Awards 2018. One overall Regional Award winner was selected in up to four categories, Small, Medium, Large and Multi-storey, at each of the ten regional ceremonies.
Over the past 12 months judges have assessed the skills demonstrated by the site managers in their day-to-day work, covering six key areas: consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise and health and safety.
This year’s Regional Award winners are just 33 of 16,000 site managers entered in the competition for their management of a site registered for warranty with NHBC. A further 99 site managers were awarded with a Seal of Excellence in the second round of the competition, also announced at the regional ceremonies.
Commenting on the Awards, NHBC Chief Executive Steve Wood said: “NHBC launched Pride in the Job in 1980, with the clear aim of promoting and driving the highest standards in new home building. 38 years on, this drive for excellence remains very much at the heart of the competition.
“Pride in the Job recognises the hugely important role site managers play in delivering high quality new homes for residents and homeowners across the UK. On behalf of everyone at NHBC, I would like to congratulate them on this wonderful achievement.”
The Regional Award Winners will now go on to compete for the ultimate title in their builder category, Supreme Award Winner, to be unveiled at a gala ceremony in January 2019.
