The final trade day of UK Construction Week has gone out on a high, with thousands of visitors flocking to the NEC as Grand Designs also opened its doors.
Offering visitors the unique chance to explore products and services from both the trade and consumer sides of the built environment, the cross-over day proved ideal for the architectural, interior design, housebuilding and self-build sectors of the industry.
Nathan Garnett, Show Director commented: “Today has been brilliant, there has been a real buzz throughout the show and the quality of the visitors has been excellent. It’s encouraging to see that so many of our housebuilding and architectural visitors really recognised the value and the synergy between Grand Designs and the more trade-focused shows. We are really pleased with how the past few days have gone and we’re looking forward to developing the show even further for next year – the dates are already confirmed for 18th – 20th October 2016.”
It was another busy day for exhibitors too, with lots of productive meetings and profitable introductions being made. The Cemex stand in particular has been a hive of activity throughout the three trade days, with a new product launched each day. Day one saw the launch of Supalow, a new permeable concrete; day two focused on the relaunched VIA range of products; and today’s new addition was Supaflow-C, a cementitious flowing screed.
James Fairclough, UK Marketing Manager at Cemex commented: “The show has given us a great opportunity to showcase our innovative products and the value they can add for customers and end users. We’re pleased to have been a part of the first UK Construction Week and feel that it’s been a great success.”
The show received some really positive feedback from exhibitors on social media too, with Safedoors (@safedoorsuk) Tweeting: “Our busiest day yet, here at @BuildShow! We’ve just had an enquiry for over 500 doors! The best has been saved for last!”
With a presence in both HVAC 2015 and Grand Designs, Airflow Developments Ltd have also had a profitable few days. “UKCW has enabled us to reach key specifiers, contractors and installers in the field,” commented Alan Siggins Managing Director.
“Our teams have discussed the importance of ventilation and new innovations – such as our Duplexvent ROTARY Wheel Ventilation with Heat Recovery System, which provides those responsible for ventilation within commercial and industrial environments with a range of easy to install units that offer powerful performance and outstanding energy efficiency. Everybody at UKCW was extremely professional and helpful, and we’ve thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many customers face to face at the event.”
Howard Flood, Projects Director at Warmup Plc also commented: “UK Construction Week has provided an excellent platform for us to meet all the right people. We were able to raise the profile of Warmup as a brand and generated a real interest in our products such as the 4iE Smart WiFi Thermostat and Total-16 Low Profile System. The atmosphere was brilliant and Warmup is delighted to have exhibited at UKCW this year.”
Bringing together nine shows under one roof, UK Construction Week is the biggest construction trade event the UK has seen in years. Taking place at the Birmingham NEC, visitors can attend the Build Show (incorporating Civils Expo), Timber Expo, the Surface and Materials Show, Energy 2015, Kitchens & Bathrooms Live, Plant & Machinery Live, HVAC 2015, Smart Buildings 2015 and Grand Designs Live.
