Schneider Electric showcase their Lisse Weatherproof range of wiring accessories
The Lisse weatherproof range is part of the popular Lisse range of wiring accessories, providing complete IP66 protection across the entire portfolio of Lisse switches, sockets and multi-use enclosures. Manufactured from weather-resistant PVC, the weatherproof range is suitable for a wide range of applications and is totally protected against dust and water. With simple installation, clever design features and IP66 ingress protection, the range can be accommodated in residential applications as well as more demanding commercial and public applications. It is ideal for providing safe and secure electrical access and switching for jobs around the home, garden and outside of buildings. The range comprises of switches, socket outlets, Fused Connection Units and useful multi-use variants for even greater flexibility – all affording full IP66 rating for maximum moisture and dust protection. Not only does the range offer premium design at an affordable price, the multi-use enclosures are fully compatible with the complete range of Lisse White Moulded products thereby extending the combinations and flexibility available but without compromising on performance and protection
Key Functions of the Lisse Weatherproof range:
- Optimum positioned fixings and seals – allowing speed of installation without the need for additional sealing of the enclosure against the wall. Providing the fixing holes pre-drilled outside of the wiring cavity eliminates the ingress of moisture, as well as providing a fast and positive fitting without the need to additionally seal the screw heads or holes before final connection. As well as time saving, this maintains the significant IP66 rating at all times.
- Multi-use enclosures – enabling all the features and qualities of the Lisse White Moulded range with the added flexibility of being incorporated within a weatherproof environment. Each multi-use enclosure is supplied with a simple fitting kit; in just two steps a product can be adapted as required. This flexibility includes Euro plates and modules and even the Lisse modular grid range, which offers 1 to 4 gang plate sizes. The clever switch units also feature another multi-use option with the choice to convert to either a 1 or a 2 gang configuration. Simply adding the switch modules to the assembly gives the perfect solution.
- Flexible cable entry seal – all socket outlets incorporate adequate space for 13A plugs including those fitted with integral flex strain relief. Flexible ‘gel’ seals maintain this protection, ensuring that any size of flex can be used – the seal simply moulds itself around the flex, restricting access of moisture. Further seals between the front cover and the enclosure across the range also help to maintain the market leading IP66 rating.
- Pre-scored 20mm cut outs – ample cut outs positioned on all sides of the enclosures enable easy connection of round conduit, with the additional feature to adapt to 25mm. These are positioned to ensure that when installed, the conduit is at the same height when fitting conduit saddles. The positioning of the conduit entry also minimises the risk of the conduit locking nuts fouling on the back of the enclosure.
- Earth termination – a secured Earth stud is supplied with every variant in the range, whether switch or socket.
- Easy switch location – provided by the inclusion of small LED indicators in all switch configurations, as well as the multiservice unit for switches. These can be wired as either N/O or N/C, thereby providing an easy way to locate the switch in darkness, or as a means of contact status indicating whether the circuit is on or off for remote installations.
The simple, safe and easy to install accessories provide electricians with additional flexibility and added peace of mind for the homeowner. Power accessories include secure locking tabs ensuring a positive fastening to maintain IP rating, which provide a visible and audible ‘click’ when fully secure. For completely tamperproof access, a simple hasp padlock can be used to lock the hinged cover and the enclosure together, which is perfect for avoiding non-authorised access in public areas – as well as for additional peace of mind when fitted around the home.
