Jennifer is currently Senior Strategic Land Manager at Barratt Yorkshire West where she leads on the strategic land portfolio, identifying suitable sites for future development across the patch, promoting these through the Local Plans system and securing planning consents to deliver much needed housing.
She was appointed National Chair of influencing and networking organisation, Women in Property on 1st March 2024, having joined the organisation in 2007. Jennifer is spokesperson for Women in Property, overseeing the strategic and day-to-day activities of the organisation, and guiding the National Steering Group, comprising fourteen branches and satellites across the UK. She is official spokesperson, as well as representing its members at external industry events. She currently leads the Student Awards Programme nationally, now in its 18th year, as well as overseeing the organisation’s cross-discipline Mentoring Programme. Throughout her career she has been committed to encouraging and inspiring women to join the property and construction industry, particularly young people who might not be aware of the tremendous careers scope it offers.
Jennifer is a dual qualified Town Planner and Planning & Development Surveyor, with a background in Architecture. She is an elected Member of the RTPI’s General Assembly, the debating chamber for the RTPI’s Board of Trustees, where they discuss Policies and other areas of interest for the Institute. As an experienced mentor, Jennifer supports fellow professionals through their RTPI and RICS APCs, as well as participating in the WiP mentoring programme.
