Alexandra Davies, from premium kitchen appliance providers Britannia Living, offers her design advice for creating Instagram-worthy kitchens.

Our kitchens are fast becoming the most important room in the house. Instead of going out to eat, more and more of us are choosing to produce our own restaurant-quality food in kitchens that are fit to socialise in (Moore Stephens). So, it’s no surprise that many of us are spending a lot of time and money making our kitchens more aesthetically pleasing.

It’s natural to want to show off the fruits of your labour, and social media is the perfect place to do so. But Instagram has one billion active monthly users that collectively share over 95 million posts a day, which means that it’s easy for your kitchen pictures to go unnoticed (Brandwatch).

So, below are my tips for creating an Instagram-worthy kitchen that is sure to bring in the likes that your efforts deserve.

Choose a unique design

The secret to getting likes on Instagram is to be bold, but to also incorporate the latest interior design trends to keep everything en vogue. New art deco is a modern twist on the 1920s craze and is a particularly good style for kitchens as it comprises elements made from luxurious stone and metal, which happen to be easy to clean.

Aim to include marble worktops and accessories in the design of your kitchen, as well as metallics such as copper, gold, and silver. To up the luxe factor, go for a mixture of metals in shiny and matte finishes as this will add depth to the look.

Keep it tidy and organised

Another key trend to aim for is minimalism, which means absolutely no cluttered surfaces and just a few statement ornaments. This clean effect provides a welcome break from the busyness of an Instagram feed and can attract a lot of likes as a result. The focus should be your furniture and appliances so keep any food items, utensils, or gadgets that aren’t essential stored away.

When you open your cupboards, everything should be neatly arranged, compartmentalised, or stacked. Not only does having tidy cupboard spaces look more aesthetically pleasing, but it will come in handy when you’re cooking if everything is clearly set out and available at a glance. So, consider putting loose jars and packets in boxes within your cupboard space to keep everything organised.

Apply some finishing touches

Normally you’d look for artwork and sculptures to finish off a room but, as we’re limiting clutter, it’s better to remember that your tableware is a form of art too. Take the time to choose luxury ceramics, cutlery, and glassware to complement the style you’ve chosen for your décor to really capture people’s attention and bring in those likes.

Your appliances should also be up-to-date and modern, as they are the statement pieces of your kitchen. There are plenty of sophisticated styles out there, including cookers that match your colour scheme. Make sure you buy from a retailer that offers a complete service, though, including installation and a demonstration. That way, you can pick up some cookery tricks to really wow your guests at your next dinner party.

By following the tips in this guide, you can create a kitchen that is organised, well-designed, and sure to bring in plenty of likes Instagram.
