Bake Off stars show off REDROW’s recipe for success at The Poplars

Bake Off

REDROW prides itself on having the perfect recipe for the ideal home. former Bake Off contestants, Val Stones and Louise Williams, showed visitors that the stunning kitchens are among the not-so-secret ingredients.

The pair, who appeared in series 7 of the popular baking competition The Great British Bake Off, popped on their aprons and made themselves at home in one of the new show homes at The Poplars at Roundwood, in Garforth.

Wales and Yorkshire-born ‘Cake Whisperers’ Louise and Val created a few festive treats at the special event. They delighted visitors with a tasty selection of miniature mince pies, a Christmas Yorkshire fruit cake and scrumptious decorated gingerbread.

Patsy Aicken, Sales Director for Redrow Homes Yorkshire, said, “we had a great crowd of people coming to view our new show homes. I think the wonderful aromas coming from the kitchen helped to entice them as much as our two lovely house styles.

“In between the baking demonstrations guests were able to wander around the show homes and our experts were on hand to discuss the various purchase options that can help people to move and make buying a new home a reality. Additionally, they loved going back to get tips and ideas for the festive season from Val and Louise, as well as another mince pie or piece of cake!

“It was a great way to view our homes and a wonderful opportunity to start getting into the Christmas spirit. We even had a visit from one of this year’s GBBO finalists Kim Joy, which was the icing on the cake. Apparently, she’d been invited by Val who wanted some tips for fine piping of icing.”

Redrow’s event was held to unveil the beautifully furnished Cambridge and Warwick style show homes at the Ninelands Lane development in Garforth.

The Poplars will offer a range of three and four-bedroom homes, with four-bedroom properties currently available from £335,950, with the Warwick and Cambridge styles displayed in the two new show homes.

The Warwick is a charming three-bedroom detached home, with a large, open plan kitchen and dining area, separate lounge, a cloakroom and handy laundry space. Upstairs has a family bathroom and three generously-sized bedrooms, the master of which has an en-suite.

The four-bedroom Cambridge has a spacious kitchen, dining and family area that spans the entire width of the house, overlooking the back garden, together with a separate lounge, utility room and cloakroom. The first floor has a family bathroom and four bedrooms, the master with en-suite. A Cambridge, like the show home, is currently available from £399,950.

Aicken continued by saying, “both show homes have been ‘done to perfection’, professionally styled and furnished so they give customers a true idea of what their own new Redrow home could be like.  It really helps to picture what it might be like to live in one.

“We even took some reservations on the day and those customers have received a signed copy of Val’s recipe book ‘The Cake Whisperer – 52 recipes to bake with love’.”
