Reap the rewards of buying in Kent

According to research by the Home Builder’s Federation (HBF), demand for new build homes has increased by 66% since the property market reopened, as 55% of homebuyers value time at home more than ever before. Taking place next week between 20th – 27th July, the HBF is running New Homes Week Unlocked, highlighting the many advantages of buying new. Showcasing the very best that new builds can offer, Kent-based luxury developer Millwood Designer Homes has recently launched two fantastic new sites for house-hunters looking to buy new: Hawthornden in Yalding and The Maltings in Biddenden. And, with the option to use the Help to Buy scheme at both sites, as well as the benefit of the newly-announced stamp duty holiday, there has never been a better time to reap the rewards of buying new.

For purchasers that choose to use the government’s Help to Buy scheme and make the most of the stamp duty holiday to get on the property ladder at The Maltings, a three-bedroom end of terrace house priced at £445,000 is available with a 5% deposit of £22,250, and no stamp duty required. For buyers looking for somewhere slightly bigger, at Hawthornden a four bedroom semi-detached house priced at £555,000 is available to purchase through Help to Buy with a 5% deposit of £27,750, and a reduced stamp duty fee of just £2,750.

Philip Brown, Sales and Marketing Director at Millwood Designer Homes, comments: “There are many benefits to buying a new build over a second-hand property, not least the low-maintenance, blank canvas that they offer. At Millwood, we’re proud to offer house-hunters the choice of beautiful, high-quality new homes, with many ready to move into now. With the amount of financial help in the market at the moment for buyers, including the Help to Buy scheme and the fantastic stamp duty holiday for homes under £500,000, homebuyers really can benefit and get more for their money when they buy new now.”

Nestled within the beautiful Weald of Kent, bordering the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, The Maltings provides a unique hamlet-style collection of 45 homes that offer something for a wide range of buyers. From first time buyers and professionals looking to make their move into their first home, to established families wanting to second-step into a bigger property and even those looking to downsize their current home to a lower maintenance new home – every property has been thoughtfully planned and designed with this in mind.

The Mulberry is a three bedroom end of terrace home with flowing modern open-plan interiors and a high specification to match. The kitchen comes complete with a luxury range of fully integrated appliances including a single electric oven, microwave oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. Each home also has access to private parking, with The Mulberry benefitting from a car barn and a parking space.

Located just six miles from Kent’s county town of Maidstone, Hawthornden comprises a unique selection of three, four-and five-bedroom homes, offering something for a variety of buyers. Each property has been expertly designed to offer Millwood’s distinctive specification, and spacious layouts that accommodate even the busiest of homeowners. The Victoria Villas are two uniquely designed four-bedroom properties, each benefitting from open-plan living areas, three spacious bedrooms and a fourth bedroom perfect for those who require extra space to enjoy working from home with ease. Both homes come complete with large landscaped rear gardens to enjoy the outdoors, and a private single garage.

Prices at The Maltings start from £430,000 for a mid-terrace Mulberry, while prices at Hawthornden start at £460,000 for a three bedroom mid-terrace. Help to Buy is available on selected plots at both sites. For more information please visit Viewings are currently by appointment only.
