The couple decided to buy off-plan at the housebuilder’s Henmore Gardens development in Ashbourne, and could finally say goodbye to future property searches.
Mr and Mrs Hicks moved into Redrow Homes’ detatched four-bedroom Richmond home at Henmore Gardens in the spring. While it is not the first new-build that the couple has owned, it is the first new-build property the couple has purchased off-plan.
Alan comments: “Retirement gave us the ideal opportunity to relocate to an area that holds very many happy memories from Elaine’s childhood.
“We always knew we wanted to return to Ashbourne one day, but after months of searching for properties without success, we were no closer to living our dream. However, after seeing land being marked out for development, we knew that a future in Ashbourne with Redrow Homes was to be enjoyed.
“Buying off-plan was incredibly exciting; we were able to witness every stage, from the land it once was, to the development it is today.”
Alan and Elaine chose The Richmond style of home to move into at Henmore Gardens. It boasts traditional design with Arts and Crafts touches on the outside, and a contemporary, stylish interior.
