Family homes in and around Solihull

BWA 32 Edenbridge Road

There are not usually many family homes available from as little as £89,000 near to the plush and sought-after town of Solihull.

But as long as you don’t mind a little DIY work, there are plenty available at Bond Wolfe Auctions’ next live-streamed auction on Wednesday 19 May.

One that will get bidders competing is a three-bedroomed, end-terraced house with central heating at 93 Russell Road in Hall Green, which has a guide price* of £89,000+.

This property with gardens front and back stands back from the road behind a driveway, although it needs upgrading.

Even closer to the Solihull border is a three-bedroomed, semi-detached house with central heating and double-gazing at 32 Edenbridge Road in Hall Green, with a guide price of £99,000+.

Again it needs modernisation, but with gardens front and back, a driveway and garage this is unlikely to put off the right potential buyer.

The same goes for another semi-detached property at 15 Botteville Road in Acocks Green that’s been converted into two self-contained flats with a shared driveway and gardens, with a guide price of £100,000+.

Flat 15, on the ground floor, needs refurbishment but has a hall, cellar, store, kitchen, pantry, two reception rooms, bedroom, bathroom and rear lean-to.

In Flat 15a, there’s an entrance downstairs and then a landing, reception room, kitchen, three bedrooms and bathroom on the first floor, with two more bedrooms on the second floor. It also benefits from central heating and partial double glazing.

Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe Auctions, said: “Both Hall Green and Acocks Green are very popular with families, owing to their location near to the desirable location of Solihull.

“Therefore, it’s quite rare for such large properties to be available for these prices, and despite the need for smartening them up we expect some strong interest from young families with DIY skills or landlords keen to increase their portfolios.”

Another potential bargain in the area is a three-bedroomed, detached house with central heating and double-glazing at 62 Southam Road in Hall Green, with a guide price of £150,000+.

This property once again needs modernisation, but with front and back gardens and a garage to the rear accessed via Colebank Road it’s bound to catch bidders’ attention.

In Solihull itself, there’s a three-bedroomed, semi-detached house at 70 Charingworth Road with central heating, double-glazing, a driveway, garage and gardens, and while it needs upgrading it has an attractive guide price of £150,000+.

A property bound to excite parents is a three-bedroomed, semi-detached house at 32 Radbourne Road in Shirley, as its location falls nicely in the catchment area of the popular Tudor Grange school.

Central heating, double glazing to the majority of windows, gardens front and back, driveway parking and a side garage all add to its attractions, although it does need improvement works throughout.

Meanwhile, a residential development opportunity to create two detached family homes will be of interest to property developers at 6 Land Lane in Marston Green, Solihull, a lot that carries a guide price of £350,000+.

These freehold former office premises are on a prominent corner plot at the junction of Land Lane and Elmdon Lane, with planning permission for conversion to a four-bedroomed house, and for an additional new build, three-bedroomed, detached house to the side.

Mr Bassi added: “The wide range of properties we are offering in and around Solihull is typical of the choice we offer at our auctions.

“This West Midlands town is one of the most desirable locations in the UK, and so all these lots are set to create a lot of interest.

The properties in and around Solihull are just a few of 236 lots listed for Bond Wolfe Auction’s online auction which starts at 8.30am on Wednesday 19 May.

The auction will be livestreamed via Bond Wolfe Auctions’ website with remote bidding by proxy, telephone or internet only, and bidders must pre-register no later than 12 noon on Tuesday 18 May.

This follows Bond Wolfe Auctions’ last auction on 31 March which raised over £30.2 million in sales, a new record for the UK’s most successful livestreamed auction.
