Berkeley Group’s St Joseph has revealed the first home at its flagship Snow Hill Wharf community in Birmingham, ahead of first completions in early 2021.
The 420-apartment canal side neighbourhood, located in the city’s Gun Quarter, is St Joseph’s first venture in Birmingham.
The new show home is situated in one of Snow Hill Wharf’s five buildings, named The Barker. This represents the first time since entering the city in 2017 that potential buyers can view the high-quality homes St Joseph is creating.
Snow Hill Wharf will include a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments, duplexes and penthouses. The show home features two bedrooms, an ensuite bathroom and terrace, as well as an open-plan kitchen, living and dining space.
St Joseph has also announced that 59 per cent of apartments at Snow Hill Wharf have already sold. This is ahead of the show home launching and first completions in Q1 2021, with recent comparisons from real estate firm, Rightmove, showing sold prices increasing 26 per cent on the previous year within Birmingham’s Gun Quarter and wider B4 postcode.
JLL’s latest UK residential forecast, released earlier in November, predicted Birmingham to have the strongest house price and rental value growth over the next five years – outperforming markets such as London and the South East.

The homes at Snow Hill Wharf have been designed to pay homage to Birmingham’s rich heritage with dark bronze ironmongery incorporated throughout as a nod to the neighbouring Birmingham and Fazeley Canal’s involvement in the industrial revolution.
The neighbourhood is set to house over 700 residents and also features a cinema room, residents’ lounge, 24-hour concierge service, sauna, steam room and gymnasium, as well as three podium gardens overlooking the canal.
A sales and marketing suite is now operational seven days a week at Snow Hill Wharf, with first occupations expected in Spring 2021.
