Persimmon set to deliver more new homes for the South East

Persimmon Homes South East says the region is set for further growth

Persimmon Homes South East says the region is set for further growth on the back of an excellent financial performance by the Group in 2014.

Persimmon Homes today announced underlying profit before tax of £475 million, an increase of 44% (2013: £330m), with full year revenue up 23% to £2.6bn (2013: £2.1bn). In total the Group, which trades under the brand names Persimmon Homes, Charles Church and Westbury Partnerships, legally completed 13,509 houses.

“This was an excellent team performance,” said Lance Taylor, Development Director responsible for London and the South East for Persimmon Homes. “The region played its own part in this performance with new developments launched in Kings Hill, Sevenoaks, Hurstpierpoint, Ashford and Dartford last year.

“2015 looks set to be an even busier year with new starts planned for Deal, Ashford, Sittingbourne, Iwade, Hellingly, Hailsham, Bromley, Swanley and Aylesham.

“Many of our 116 employees are shareholders in the business and will benefit directly from this financial performance. Employing the right people to help us grow the business even further remains a key focus for the team in the South East and we have a number of posts available now, with more coming on stream later in the year.”

Nationally in 2014, Persimmon acquired a further 26,822 plots of land with 9,386 plots successfully converted from the Group’s strategic land portfolio.

“We are well aware of the need for housing across the UK and will be working hard to achieve planning permission across the region to enable us to deliver new homes to those who badly need them,” said Lance Taylor.

We would ask local authorities to work in partnership with us to ensure these new homes are delivered as quickly as possible.”
