Pride In The Job Award for Bedford-based Site Manager

Avtar Bahra was commended for his work on The Fairways

Site managers working for homebuilder, David Wilson Homes South Midlands, have beaten thousands of other Site Managers across the UK to achieve a national commendation for the quality of their workmanship.

Bedford-based Site Manager, Avtar Bahra, is one of three Site Managers employed by the developer to receive the prestigious NHBC (National House-Building Council) Pride in the Job Quality Awards.

The Pride in the Job Quality Awards are the most coveted in the housebuilding industry. They are awarded after the construction standard setting body NHBC carries out a series of spot check site inspections to select the best-organised and best-quality housing developments.

Almost 15,000 Site Managers throughout the UK were judged on every aspect of their job, including technical skill, quality workmanship, customer service and site safety.

Avtar Bahra was commended for his work on The Fairways in Great Denham, and together with the other commended Site Managers, Terry Brand and Craig Gilbert, will now go forward to the final round of the competition which will select the best Site Manager in Britain.

“This award is a reflection of all the hard work that’s gone into The Fairways,” said Avtar, who has worked at the development since it started six years ago, “not just from me but from the rest of the team, particularly my Assistant Site Manager, Noel Beaty, who’s been a constant help from the start.”

Chris Hatfield, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes South Midlands, comments, “The official recognition of three of our Site Managers confirms that we are building some of the best quality homes in the country.

“We have a very good track record in these awards and this is a fitting testament to the hard work and dedication of not only the Site Managers, but also to all workers on site.”

A well-established homebuilder, David Wilson Homes prides itself on building exceptional homes in the finest locations and has recently been awarded the maximum five-star rating in a customer satisfaction survey ran by the Home Builders Federation (HBF).
