Miller Homes in the North West is celebrating after Bill Hughes, site manager at their The Views development just outside of Billinge, was named as a Supreme Winner in the NHBC’s Pride in Job Awards for the sixth time.
Bill, from Penketh near Warrington, was put forward to the grand finals in London after having previously been named as a Regional Winner in the Large Housebuilder category and he receives the Supreme Award for the sixth time, having previously won in four consecutive years, from 2003 to 2006, and again in 2011.
Bill, who has worked for Miller Homes for over 15 years, is the housebuilder’s most decorated site manager. This award is Bill’s 56th in the competition and his impressive array includes 23 Quality Awards, 19 Seals of Excellence, eight Regional Awards and now six Supreme Awards.
In this instance, Bill was recognised for his meticulous and consistent attention to detail, as well as scoring highly for the quality of workmanship on his site at every stage of the build. To win the award Bill also demonstrated excellent leadership, technical expertise and robust health and safety processes.
Chris Endsor, Chief Executive of Miller Homes, comments: “Bill is a member of our team who works tremendously hard to support Miller Homes’ aim of delivering homes safely and to the highest possible standards. His track record in this competition is superb and he is thoroughly deserving of this recognition once again. We are all tremendously proud of what he has achieved.”
The NHBC’s (National House-Building Council) Pride in the Job awards are the house-building industry’s most prestigious awards programme. Running for 36 years, the Pride in the Job Awards are dedicated to recognising site managers who achieve the highest standards in house-building and represents success for the site manager, his team and the building company.
Mike Quinton, NHBC Chief Executive, said: “Every year the NHBC Pride in the Job Awards gives us the chance to celebrate the efforts of site managers in promoting continuous improvement in the quality of new homes, year on year, for homeowners and their families to enjoy.
“I would like to congratulate Bill on this latest achievement. He is a credit to the industry, his company and of course himself. Having beat an incredible number of others to win the title for an impressive sixth time, he can be proud to claim to be among the best in the business.”
