Symphony Group, the UKs largest manufacturer of fitted kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms have committed to donating £2,500 to support their Sales Director in his fundraising for Habitat for Humanity Great Britain.
Symphony Sales Director, Alan Kinnes, is working alongside volunteers from Miller Homes to raise money for Habitat for Humanity by going to Malawi to build homes to help families who are living in substandard conditions. Originally setting himself a target of £5,000, which was surpassed in March, Alan now hopes to raise closer to £10k and the donation of £2,500 will make a big impact on this target.
Miller Homes is one of Symphony’s key customers and they have been committed to tackling the global housing crisis through their on-going support of Habitat for Humanity Great Britain since 2016. This year Miller Homes extended an invitation to Alan Kinnes to join them when they return to Malawi in June 2019.
Speaking of his reasons behind the decision to take part, Alan said, “I lost my wife and soul mate last year and I wanted to set myself a unique goal to challenge myself, one I know she would be proud of. When I was approached by Miller Homes to come aboard and donate my time, it’s such a worthwhile cause that I jumped at the chance to be apart of.
I’d initially set myself a target to raise £5000, but the donation from Symphony has meant that that I’ve already surpassed my target by a significant amount and I can’t thank the company enough. I’m now going to push myself and try raise £10k before I go to Malawi.”
Richard Bunton, Managing Director of Symphony Group said “Habitat for Humanity is an important global charity with a vision for everyone to have a safe place to call home and we’re pleased to be supporting such a worthwhile cause. We were thrilled when Alan decided that he wanted to get involved with such as fantastic project, and we’re pleased to think that our donation will make an impact to those who need it most.”
