Addington has strengthened its commitment to the London property market by appointing David Watt as Senior Adviser, focusing on growing its Asian investor network. With extensive experience spanning over 40 years in Asian and European markets, David will work alongside his current advisory roles in Hong Kong and London, capitalising on his network and expertise in commercial property development and investment.
David’s career includes leading the development of major projects like China Central Place in Beijing and i-Square in Hong Kong. His strategic insight has shaped numerous investment ventures across Asia, including advising Prologis on their market entry into China with the development of a significant logistics hub in Shenzhen’s Yantian Port. David’s contributions extend to advising on prominent investments, such as the Dubai International Financial Centre (IFC) for the Dubai Government, Northgate House in Seoul for M&G, and Asia Plaza in Taipei for Shin Kong Life Insurance.
Addington has already established strong ties with respected Hong Kong investors and currently manages assets in key London office locations, including 10 Fleet Place, where the firm has secured new leases totaling 166,229 square feet in recent transactions.
Martin Roberts, Principal at Addington, noted that current pricing levels in the London office market present compelling opportunities for investors. He highlighted Addington’s focus on two core strategies: the ‘Brown to Green’ repositioning of offices in Central London and converting office spaces to residential properties in Greater London. David’s role will be to bridge connections with Asian investors eager to leverage Addington’s expertise in these areas.
In line with these objectives, Addington will attend MIPIM Asia in December 2024 to further engage with potential investors and explore opportunities for collaboration in the London property market.
