Trafford Council has approved plans for a luxury Altrincham-based residential scheme, to be developed by Real Estate Investment Partnerships Ltd.
Alexandra House, the £18 million scheme, will be on the corner of Ashley Road and St John’s Road – half a mile south of Altrincham town centre and in walking distance to the pretty and affluent villages of Bowdon and Hale.
The prime residential property will comprise 40 apartments and townhouses. These will include a mixture of one, two and three-bed single, duplex and triplex apartments and six-one bed mews houses, with building due to commence in July 2016.
Sizes of the apartments will range from 430 sq ft for a one-bed townhouse to a 1,289 sq ft three-bed penthouse. Further amenities are set to include ground-level and underground parking for 86 cars and landscaped communal gardens and croquet lawn. The build is expected to take around 12 months.
Having been designed by award-winning architects Ollier Smurthwaite, the new development will make use of the derelict site and provide the area with luxurious, yet affordable, living.
Stephen Slater, chief executive officer of Real Estate Investment Partnerships Ltd., said: “We’re thrilled to have passed the planning stages of this development and are moving ahead with turning this public eyesore into a residential development worthy of its premium location.
“Getting on site and turning this corner of Bowdon around is our next priority. We’re committed to ensuring that the building complements the local environment whilst putting its own stamp on the area, and have been working with Trafford Council for over a year to achieve this.”
Tom Flanagan of Paul Butler Associates advised on planning and heritage matters, with Irwin Mitchell Solicitors representing Real Estate Investment Partnerships Ltd.
The team is highly experienced in bringing first class residential and commercial properties to market. This is one of several schemes that the luxury developer is launching across Cheshire, Manchester and London, including Green Walk in Bowdon – www.highbankatgreenwalk.co.uk.
Enquiries and sales will be handled by Hibbert Homes (0161 929 6922) and Gascoigne Halman (0161 929 8118), both based in Hale village.
