As the country feels the weight of the cost-of-living crisis along with rising energy bills, buyers in Dorset will be pleased to hear about a Barratt Homes partnership, which is bringing eco-friendly homes to the region.

Working with sustainable technology company, UPOWA, the housebuilder is building energy-efficient developments across the country and is committed to ensuring all of its new house types are zero carbon in use from 2030.

This is great news for eco-conscious homebuyers, as well as anyone keen on saving money on their energy bills in the long-term.

Barratt bosses took UPOWA reps for a walkaround its Canford Paddock development in Dorset to show how the sustainable technology company’s roof-integrated solar products are being used at its developments.

Matt Dunford, Barratt Homes Contracts Manager, and Alex Hall, Barratt Homes Site Manager, took UPOWA reps John Southern, Head of Product and Strategy, Jonny Brady, Head of Brand and Marketing, and Gary Cozens, Head of Operations, around the developer’s new site on the edge of Poole and Bournemouth.

Matt Dunford said the housebuilder is thrilled to be working with the innovative company.

He said: “Barratt Homes is committed to bringing high-quality, sustainable homes to the region, and with this fantastic partnership, we can do just that. UPOWA has provided us with purpose-built solutions to future-proof our new properties, perfect for the 21st-century buyer.

“It was great to have the opportunity to show our UPOWA partners around Canford Paddock today. They had the chance to see just how their products are being put into action.”

John Southern, Head of Product and Strategy at UPOWA, said it was great to see the roof-integrated solar systems in action, and is proud to be partnering with Barratt Homes.

He said: “We were very impressed with the site and how our teams are working together to create sustainable, future-ready homes. I’m proud to see UPOWA making a positive impact, helping to insulate households during the energy crisis, as well as benefitting the environment.”

UPOWA provides housing developers, construction companies and commercial businesses with a “one-stop-shop” of sustainable technology products and specialist services to accelerate the journey to net-zero. Since 2008, it has delivered over 18,000 renewable energy installations nationwide, and has unrivalled resources and expertise to solve the UK’s future sustainability and decarbonisation challenges.

Barratt Homes is determined to be the leading national sustainable housebuilder, and the developer’s Building Sustainably Framework brings together its sustainability ambitions, targets, activities, and metrics to ensure that important issues and solutions are deeply rooted in every business decision and day-to-day action it takes.

The housebuilder is building eco-friendly homes across Dorset, including at Canford Paddock.
