Barratt staff raise £12,000 conquering the Three Peaks Challenge

Adventurous staff from Barratt Homes in South Wales have conquered the Welsh Three Peaks Challenge.

More than £12,000 was raised from the gruelling challenge where hikers tackled three of the toughest climbs in Wales. Funds collected from the endeavour are going to Ty Hafan to support the needs of life-limited children.

The 20 strong team were in training for months and all the hard work paid off as they scaled the dizzy heights of Snowdon in the North, Cadair Idris in mid-Wales, and Pen y Fan in South Wales.

The intrepid team ascended around 1500 metres and 17 miles in less than 15 hours to successfully achieve the Three Peaks Challenge and raise funds.

Barratt Homes managing director Steve Williams said: “Each year our staff come up with inventive ways to raise money for charity but this year they really have gone the extra mile. To push themselves both physically and mentally to fundraise for Ty Hafan and support life-limited children is really commendable and is worthy of all our support – there’s still time to add to the amazing total!”

“The Three Peaks Challenge was really tough. I can’t believe we did it! We are all so proud that we raised a fantastic amount for the children that Ty Hafan support.” said Peter Ballantyne, senior land manager at Barratt Homes, who took part in the challenge.
