Bellway London to open new showhome in Sydenham

Bellway London is launching a new showhome at its Maybrey Works development in Sydenham in October.

This will be the second showhome at Maybrey Works.

A one-bedroom apartment within Delta Court will open to visitors on Saturday 30 October, by appointment only.

Bellway London is building 159 homes at the development off Worsley Bridge Road, of which 108 are private apartments and 51 are allocated as affordable housing for local people through rent or shared ownership.

Earlier this year, a sales office and two-bedroom show apartment were unveiled within the development’s ground-floor commercial units. These units will be converted back to commercial space once the development is complete.

Among those units will be the residents’ home working hub, which will have individual and communal work stations and Hyperoptic broadband connection points.

Emma Hamlett, Sales Director for Bellway London, said: “The new showhome at Maybrey Works will offer prospective buyers the opportunity to see how efficiently space is used in our one-bedroom apartments.

“The two-bedroom showhome is stunning and the one-bedroom apartment will be equally impressive.

“For first-time buyers in particular, it is comforting to walk around a home similar to the apartment you plan to buy. This experience helps people to understand how the space could work for them.

“The development has been designed to ensure it meets people’s needs both now and in the future. The work hub is a new feature for Bellway London and one which will be replicated at future developments. It means buyers can work from home and have a separate work space, without needing a second bedroom to achieve this.

“Outdoor space is another attractive feature at Maybrey Works. There will be communal gardens and a rooftop terrace with fantastic views. Some of the apartments will look out over the Pool River.”

Construction work at Maybrey Works is continuing apace, with the first residents set to move into their new homes in early 2022.

Emma said: “With our apartments here priced under the Help to Buy cap for London, first-time buyers have been able to take advantage of the scheme to help in their move to this popular location.

“The development is situated just two minutes’ walk from Lower Sydenham railway station, so buyers will be able to commute into Central London with ease.

“We look forward to unveiling the new showhome and demonstrating the range of apartments available at Maybrey Works.”

With London Help to Buy, first-time buyers can secure a new-build home up to the value of £600,000 with just a five per cent deposit and a 55% mortgage. The remaining 40% is provided in the form of a Government-backed equity loan, which is interest free for five years.

Maybrey Works is a collection of one, two and three-bedroom apartments, with buyers also having access to a residents’ gym and an on-site concierge service.

There is currently a selection of properties available at the development, with prices starting from £345,000.
