Churchill Retirement Living Boosts its Board

Recently-crowned ‘Housebuilder of the Year’ Churchill Retirement Living has strengthened its senior team with two heavyweight Board appointments. Former St Modwen Chief Executive Bill Oliver will become Non-Executive Deputy Chairman, and PwC corporate financier Simon Boadle will join as a Non-Executive Director of the Ringwood-based firm.

Bill Oliver has over 35 years of housebuilding experience. A qualified Chartered Accountant, he held roles at Barratt Developments, Alfred McAlpine, The Rutland Group and Dwyer Estates, before joining St Modwen as Finance Director in 2000. Bill retired from St Modwen in November this year after 13 years as Chief Executive and 17 years on its Board.Under his leadership, St. Modwen delivered excellent growth and furthered its reputation as the UK’s leading regeneration specialist.

Simon Boadle has been a Corporate Finance adviser for over 30 years, most recently as a Partner with PwC, and formerly with Natwest Markets. He has extensive experience of mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, IPO’s and capital raisings, both in the UK and internationally.

The appointments follow rapid expansion for Churchill Retirement Living in recent years, with turnover growing to £190 million in 2016 whilst at the same time maintaining industry leading margins. The Company now employs over 500 staff in total across six UK offices.
