Building Services specialist Weatherite Group has today announced two employee promotions at senior level.
Weatherite Service & Maintenance Limited, leading provider of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration installation and servicing, has promoted Ricky Brookes from general manager to director.
Mr Brookes joined the company in 2010 as service manager and was promoted to general manager in 2013. Mr Brookes’ responsibilities include managing the office and field-based operational teams including disciplinary issues, appraisals and training identification to maintain and continue to improve performance.
As director of the business, Mr Brookes will provide business strategy to maximise sales opportunities and further grow accounts. He will also monitor account profitability and advise the senior leadership team on recruitment, training and direction of the business.
Mr Brookes will continue to report to Weatherite Group director, Tim Whitehouse, who said: “We are delighted to announce that Ricky will joining the Board of Directors. Ricky has been an asset to the business since he joined six years ago. He is an excellent project and relationship manager and successfully builds and maintains multiple relationships with suppliers and distributors, adding a breadth of knowledge to the business.”
Before joining Weatherite, Mr Brookes worked at Ideal Air, Ideal Group, for five years as air conditioning and ventilation divisional manager. He started his career at the age of 19 as a ductwork installation fitters’ assistant. He then became a ductwork installation supervisor, and was appointed to contracts manager at ACWF Air Conditioning Wright Favel in 1997.
The Group’s second significant promotion sees Daniel Male promoted to general manager at Weatherite Aluminium Solutions Limited. The company, which specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of aluminium entrance facades, automatic doors, windows, curtain walling, shutter systems and security doors, already lists many of the High Street’s most familiar names among its retail clients. Mr Male’s responsibilities will include developing the business in other market sectors including retirement living, hotels, hospitals, universities and commercial buildings.
Mr Male joined Weatherite in 2005 as contracts and installation manager. Prior to working at Weatherite he worked as project manager at Alan Nuttall, and previously at John Evans Internal Architect and Design where he worked as an interior architect. Mr Male has a BA Honours degree in Internal Architecture and brings a wealth of knowledge to the business.
He said: “My experience as both designer and project manager gives me a complete perspective on the ‘creative challenges’ that projects can create. I understand that architects will always push the design envelope whilst good contract managers will focus on the practicality of getting the job completed to a high standard, on time and within budget.
“We have a great team at Weatherite with years of experience and an extensive range of solutions for all sectors of industry. My aim moving forward is to continue to target new sectors to increase sales and move the business forward.”
Mr Male will also report to Mr Whitehouse, who added: “Dan is a credit to the business and since joining the business 11 years ago has gone from strength-to-strength. He is capable of managing a number of projects across different sectors and has won several new business accounts which have previously been difficult to penetrate.”
Outside work Mr Male has five children and in his spare time enjoys sharing their hobbies including horse riding, scooting and swimming.
