Dual colour combinations from Moores

For those who are torn between tones, the dual colour kitchen trend offers the best of both worlds.

With bolder, more daring colour options now available across a range of styles, homeowners have started to think differently about kitchen design embracing colour combinations, so depending on how adventurous or conservative your preferences, there are many different ways to enjoy this trend.

Earthy shades of beige, sage and cream are sought after this year, tapping into the country kitchen aesthetic. These colours can be paired beautifully with a darker palette of navy, green or black as they have complementary undertones which tie the whole scheme together in a contemporary style.

Neil McDonald, Design Manager at Moores, explained: “Neutral or white kitchens have long been the safe choice, however, there has been a huge shift in homeowners tastes with many looking to juxtapose modern neutrals with contemporary bold shades.

By channelling the two-tone trend, you can create a playful, boutique style kitchen which really captures your personality. The key is composition. Even though it may be the smallest area, the island often becomes the centrepiece. Use dramatic colours here and opt for more modest shades on the walls as to not overwhelm the design.”
