Hayfield breaks ground on £20m South Cambridgeshire scheme

Hayfield Lodge

Hayfield, The Solihull-based five-star premium housebuilder, has begun work on Hayfield Lodge – a new 44-home development in Over, Cambridgeshire.

The developer, supported by RM Contractors, has broken ground on the 7-acre scheme, which includes a range of EPC A-rated two-bedroom bungalows and two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom houses. 18 of the homes have been designated for affordable housing.

The Woods Hardwick-designed scheme, which includes a full-size football pitch to enhance local sports provision, is in keeping with the highly sustainable specification deployed across Hayfield’s portfolio. Each EPC A-rated home is zero carbon ready and will include solar PV panels, air source heat pumps, underfloor heating, sound-reducing studies, and electric vehicle fast-charging points, as standard.

Hayfield’s zero carbon ready design principles will ensure that the homes exceed the government’s Future Homes Standard – a level of specification that will be mandatory for housebuilders to meet from 2025.

The £20m development, which includes red and buff brick features in keeping with the wider area, is expected to launch in summer 2023, with interested parties able to register for updates ahead of its launch to market.

Andy Morris, Managing Director of Hayfield, said: “Sustainability continues to be at the core of our thinking as we look to deliver ambitious, high-quality homes that enhance local communities.

“Once complete, Hayfield Lodge will provide another prominent example of how we can address the UK’s housing shortage and inspire greener ways of living through the highest standards of intelligent design.

“The market has been incredibly receptive to what we see as the ‘Hayfield difference’, with the level of interest for Hayfield Lodge proving no different as more and more homeowners and residents seek a more sustainable home for the future.”

Hayfield is currently on site delivering more than 300 homes at eight developments across Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, and Worcestershire.
