Developer gives £20,000 to local projects

Rochester

A leading Kent developer has demonstrated its commitment to the local community by providing more than £20,000 of funding for local projects.

The team behind Hyde New Homes’ Rochester Riverside development joined forces with UK housebuilding and urban regeneration company, Countryside Partnership, to spearhead a number of initiatives designed to benefit and improve the region.

Medway Open Studios & Arts Festival, Medway Pride 2022, and Kick and Connect football club are just some of the schemes funded by The Rochester Riverside Community Board, which oversees funding for community projects across Rochester on behalf of Hyde New Homes and Countryside.

The first ever British Sign Language festival – BUP – also gained vital support from the developer as well as St Peter’s Infant School on Holcombe Road, which benefited from new playground equipment. Improvements to the Rochester school’s outdoors area included new resources, a sheltered sand pit, builder’s bench, play cottage and a new AstroTurf surface.

But it wasn’t just monetary donations that the developer has offered. Hyde New Homes has also held regular social events, arranged by Countryside, at its developments across Kent for the community to enjoy. These included a summer barbecue – which provided a fantastic opportunity for neighbours at Rochester Riverside to meet each other and ask the Estate Management team any important questions. There was also a fun-filled Jubilee street party, and this proved such a success that another celebration has been planned for King Charles III’s coronation.

Most recently, Rochester Riverside’s play area – Furrell Park – enjoyed its official opening and children at the development were invited to be the first to use the play equipment.

Minnie Dando, Head of Marketing and Communications said: “Hyde New Homes is proud to invest in the areas which it builds in, underpinning the creation of positive and thriving communities that will last. It has been a pleasure to show our support for the projects that have helped to make Rochester an even better place to live.”

The stylish new development is set within 10 acres of open space. It overlooks a newly regenerated riverside walk and enjoys stunning views across the Medway and inland towards the historic Rochester Castle and Cathedral.

The sought-after location also boasts excellent transport links. Rochester train station is just minutes away, so London and the rest of the South Coast is within easy reach.

Current availability includes two-bedroom apartments starting from £327,500. Buyers can secure a 40% share of the home with a 10% deposit of £13,400. Along with a mortgage, they will then pay a subsidised rent to Hyde New Homes with the ability to purchase further shares in the future. Through this “staircasing” process, homeowners will eventually have the chance to own up to 100% of their home.
