Kent Scheme offers First Time Buyers the Perfect Work/Life Balance

Surrounded by the open fields of the historic Kent town of New Romney, close to the picturesque beaches of the south coast and within easy reach of central London, Mulberry Place is an idyllic collection of two, three and four-bedroom new homes, perfectly suited for First Time Buyers. Priced from £290,000 for a terraced two-bedroom house, with Help to Buy available on selected units, the hugely popular scheme provides the perfect work/life balance.

Mulberry Place is the ideal location for those who want to live within a more rural landscape but remain within easy reach of good transport links. A mere twenty-minute drive from Ashford International Station with fast trains to London St. Pancras, residents can step out of their door and into a meeting in just over an hour.

Karrina Oki, Director of Sales and Marketing at Pentland Homes comments: “The homes at Mulberry Place have proven popular with a mixture of buyers, but the availability of Help to Buy have made them highly attractive to first time buyers that want to live in a desirable countryside location that remains well-connected to London. Purchasers can also benefit from being within easy reach of the beaches and the high street of New Romney.”

This is the last chance to secure a home at Mulberry Place with the Help to Buy Scheme, which aims to help buyers make their first step onto the property ladder. First Time Buyers only need to cover 5% of the deposit required to purchase their home, with the Government scheme covering the remainder as an interest free loan for the first five years.

The most popular house type with First Time Buyers at Mulberry Place is The Clifton. These 764 sq. ft. terraced homes are priced from £290,000, with a deposit of just £14,500 required for those using Help to Buy.

The properties consist of an open plan kitchen/living and dining area on the ground floor with a cloakroom. On the first floor there are two spacious bedrooms, separated by a family bathroom. The Clifton house also features off-street parking and a garden to the rear.

Another collection which is popular with First Time Buyers is The Chislet house type, with prices starting at £400,000. These 1143 sq. ft. semi-detached homes, feature a yellow brick and white timber exterior and come complete with an open-plan kitchen/dining area whilst there is a separate large living room on the ground floor. Upstairs there is a spacious master suite and two guest bedrooms, as well as a large bathroom.

Taking advantage of the current Help to Buy Scheme, First Time Buyers could secure a Chislet home with a deposit of £20,000.

Other properties in the collection include The Elan which has a fully open-plan ground floor and three bedrooms on the first floor and prices start from £405,000 for a semi-detached house. Another is The Brecon with prices starting from £440,000 for a detached house. These also have a fully open-plan ground floor and three bedrooms on the first floor.

Mulberry Place is well-located, with good transport links including Ashford International Station, which can be reached in 20 minutes and provides a direct connection to London St Pancras. Dover and the transport links into Europe are only 35 minutes away, meaning Paris is just moments away for that last minute city break.

Situated in the historic town of New Romney, which dates back to the Anglo-Saxon era. The high street has been in constant use since the 14th century, as the town was historically a harbour before the sea retreated. The town has retained its rich heritage and medieval buildings and offers a wealth of amenities including traditional pubs, small local shops and a range of coffee shops and restaurants for residents to enjoy.
