LEICHT Contracts, a leading supplier of German-engineered kitchen furniture to the UK’s new build and regeneration construction sector, is strengthening its presence in both rural and urban housing developments. The company is aligning its strategy with the forthcoming Future Homes Standard in 2025, supporting developers nationwide as they work towards decarbonisation.
Sarah Edwards, Managing Director UK at LEICHT Contracts, highlights the company’s commitment to sustainable and innovative kitchen solutions. “As a carbon-neutral manufacturer, we pride ourselves on delivering thoughtful and aspirational design that not only stands out in the marketplace but also supports a premium kitchen living experience. Our designers are equipped to meet the diverse needs of property developers, ensuring that each project is both unique and functional.”
The company’s expertise is evident in two recently completed projects: one in Wallingford, Oxfordshire, and another in Kentish Town, North London. Both developments showcase LEICHT’s ability to integrate high-quality, sustainable kitchen designs within modern housing schemes.
Winterbrook Gardens, Wallingford
LEICHT Contracts was commissioned to design and install 60 kitchens for Berkeley Homes’ latest neighbourhood development in Wallingford. Winterbrook Gardens comprises a range of 2, 3, 4, and 5-bedroom homes set within a thoughtfully planned community that promotes sustainable living. With easy access to the historic market town and strong transport links to London, the development aims to provide families with a high-quality living environment.
The kitchens feature the CERES design from the CONTINO handleless range, a practical and stylish choice created using precision laser technology. The Olive Grey doors and drawer fronts offer a seamless finish, complemented by Carbon Grey wall cabinets and concrete-effect tiled splashbacks. Each kitchen is equipped with Bosch appliances, integrated lighting solutions, and USB-C sockets for modern connectivity. The carefully curated design balances aesthetics with functionality, ensuring an efficient and elegant kitchen space for residents.
The Tipton, Kentish Town
In North London’s vibrant Kentish Town, LEICHT Contracts delivered a bespoke sustainable kitchen solution for The Tipton, a 42-apartment mixed-use development by GM London. With a focus on sustainability, every kitchen in the scheme features furniture crafted from PEFC-certified timbers and recycled aluminium, reinforcing LEICHT’s eco-conscious credentials.
Designed in collaboration with award-winning interior designer Scenesmith, the apartments incorporate SYNTHIA Highland Oak furniture from the PRIMO collection, paired with minimalist CERES top units in MOHAIR. The result is a sophisticated, anti-fingerprint finish that is both durable and easy to maintain. Premium features such as Caesarstone worktops, Vado bronze taps, and Reginox sinks enhance the design, while the penthouses include high-end Siemens appliances, Bora PURU induction hobs, and Caple wine coolers for an elevated living experience.
The Tipton is designed to maximise natural light with floor-to-ceiling windows, herringbone hardwood flooring, and underfloor heating for improved energy efficiency. Private balconies and communal rooftop terraces offer residents views over Kentish Town, Hampstead Heath, and central London. The development is set for completion in summer 2025.
With its continued focus on innovation, sustainability, and premium design, LEICHT Contracts is playing a significant role in shaping the future of kitchen living in UK housing developments. As the industry moves towards a greener and more efficient built environment, the company’s expertise and commitment to excellence ensure its kitchens remain at the forefront of modern living.
