A former apprentice who’s taken on his first development as a Site Manager has the support of friendly faces – he’s worked with most of them before. Ryan Corlett was recently promoted to Site Manager by Kingswood Homes and is now overseeing construction of 50 new homes at The Hawthorns in Elswick. Among the familiar faces at the development is Sales Consultant Waseem Naqvi. The pair have worked together previously on other sites.
“I’m absolutely made up to have my own site. It’s a very rewarding job overseeing the construction of new homes ready for customers to move in,” said Ryan.
He started his career an apprentice joiner, was a Trainee Site Manager for 18 months, then worked as an Assistant Site Manager for three years before his most recent promotion.
On a typical day there are around 30 people working on site at The Hawthorns.
“I’ve worked with Waseem and around 80% of the contractors before.,” Ryan, 26, from Preston, added.
“Having a good working relationship and keeping morale high while doing a good job is important. We’re all one team trying to provide customers with the best product and service.”
Waseem is equally enthusiastic about the homes, including Kingswood’s Shape Your Home concept.
“The ability to Shape Your Home and choose the internal layout that works for you sets us apart from other developers,” Waseem, who’s worked in new homes sales for six years, said.
“I’m proud to work for Kingswood because of the quality of their homes and their specification. We include fencing and downlights as standard, but these are upgrades with some other housebuilders.”
Homes at The Hawthorns are currently being sold off plan, with a show home under construction. Gaming-style virtual technology is being used to help inspire buyers.
“The Hawthorns is a lovely development, surrounded by fields, with village facilities nearby including a deli. It has a real rural feel to it,” Waseem, 38 from Chorley, added.
“People love the panorama 3600 virtual tours, particularly as we don’t have a show home yet. Customers can navigate around the development and the home they’re interested in and even ‘walk’ into the garden and see the view from the back. It’s an amazing tool and the feedback has been fantastic.”
The Hawthorns offers a choice of three, four and five-bedroom homes, with current prices from £324,995.
