Moores welcome two new apprentices

Leading kitchen manufacturer, Moores, is committed to supporting the next generation of engineers, regularly partnering with local colleges and schemes to provide practical training experience to aspiring young talent.

The company has recently welcomed two new apprentices to their Machine Shop, Dominic Thornton and Billy Beaumont. Both apprentices are pursuing an 18-month Wood Machinist Level 2 qualification at Moores through the North Lancs Training Group, a scheme which helps young people kickstart their careers by connecting them with top employers.

With innovation and new technology at the fore of the company, the apprentices will be given first-hand experience using the AlphaCam 2023, a state-of-the art CAD software which is specially designed for woodworking.

Dominic and Billy officially joined the team at the end of May and have already settled well into their roles, learning many useful new skills which will help propel their careers.

Upon joining the company, Dominic said: “I chose this position in order to learn a good trade. After thoroughly researching, I found Moores to be a very professional company and I’m really enjoying my time here.”

Billy adds: “I’ve had a passion for woodwork since I was young and have already designed several projects. I really think Moores will be the perfect place for me to develop my skills.”

Moores currently have apprentices in various areas of the business including HR, management and engineering, and are recruiting for a further two Wood Machinist roles.
