New Senior Property Manager for St Arthur Homes

St Arthur Homes

A new Senior Property Manager has been welcomed to the team at shared ownership provider St Arthur Homes.

Cheryl Effiom has spent two weeks with the company, joining after a stint of just under a year-and-a-half at Legal & General as its first Defects Manager. Before that, Cheryl spent over four years at Home Group as Southern Region Aftercare Manger, creating new processes to provide a streamlined and efficient experience, both internally and for clients.

Cheryl said: “I’ve spent over a decade working in property and asset management, and it’s a field I feel incredibly passionate about. After all, matching people with their ideal high-quality home can quite literally change their life for the better. Not only that, but I find the whole process of building a house fascinating – right from purchasing the land through to the aftersales care when someone is actually living in the house.

“When I realised that working in property was the career for me, I had the choice whether to pursue a journey in the private sector or with housing associations and affordable or shared housing providers. For me, I knew I could make the most difference and help those who may not have the same opportunities as others, by choosing the affordable housing route. It’s such a wonderful feeling, to help someone buy who may have previously thought that was out of their reach.”

Cheryl, who lives in Lower Clapton, said: “I’m pleased to say that my first impression of the St Arthur Homes team wasn’t wrong. After two weeks of working with them, they are friendly and welcoming with a genuine passion to continue becoming an aspirational brand.  It’s been amazing. No one seems too busy to explain something to me, or help, and there’s a really great atmosphere of camaraderie and striving together for a common goal – to be the best in the business.”

Richard Cohen, CEO of St Arthur Homes, said: “Cheryl has already made an outstanding first impression on all of us here and we are eager to work with her towards fulfilling our organisational goals.”

Alongside her busy job, Cheryl also sits on the board for British Property Federation in the Futures team, specialising in mentoring. She is a keen gym-goer, taking active steps to maintain her health for as long as possible, so that she can give 100 per cent to her life, both inside and outside of work. She also has a puppy called Sasa and enjoys taking her on long walks around Hackney Marshes.
