Principle wins contract

A collection of 102 apartments in a former Edwardian warehouse set in London’s famous Camden Town are to be looked after by Principle Estate Management.

The converted property known as Carlow House is a striking example of 1930s art deco architecture, with the one and two bedroomed apartments arranged around a four-storey atrium with a daytime concierge.

The right-to-manage (RTM) company responsible for the development appointed Principle after a full tender.

Although Principle already manages multiple properties across London, this latest contract is its second instruction since opening a new London office this year following the acquisition of managing agent Myhill Newman.

Joe Jobson, joint managing director at Principle, said: “We are delighted to have won the contract to manage Carlow House and will be  proudly be looking after this from our Soho office.

“We met with the RTM directors on site and already have a firm understanding of the key issues which we are very much looking forward to getting on with.

“We are thrilled that the directors have put their faith in Principle and we can’t wait to repay them.”

Mr Jobson explained that Carlow House offered a novel London landmark for luxury loft style living, and was designed to exceed the expectations of the most discerning occupier or investor.

Each apartment boasts sleek features inspired by the award-winning practice of Rabih Hage, each blending in with the character warehouse appeal of the neighbouring properties.

Mr Jobson added: “These impressive properties will need careful care and attention and their management will be overseen by Thomas Young, the newly appointed senior property manager in our London office.

“Thomas is an experienced and knowledgeable operator who will hit the ground running with this special development.”

A spokesperson for Carlow House RTM Company Ltd said: “Choosing the right property management company was a crucial decision for us, and we were very impressed with Principle’s tender.

“We wanted someone who paid careful attention to owners’ and residents’ needs and felt fully assured that Principle would make sure this was done.

“We are now looking forward to seeing them in action as we plan the future management of these splendid properties.”
