Refined development of new homes in North Worcestershire on sale

A collection of 14 carefully designed homes in a sought-after North Worcestershire village is to be marketed by estate agency Nicol & Co.

The Ravensbank development, based by the canalside on Westonhall Road, in the village of Stoke Prior, is the first residential development by Ravensbury Homes.

A 52-week construction project has just started on what will be five affordable and nine market-priced properties, the latter a mixture of three and four-bedrooms with prices from £340,000 to £550,000.

The semi-rural location has proved popular for other new housing projects, as it is also just a five-minute drive away from junction 5 of the M5 motorway. More than 200 new Barrett Homes on the same road have already been snapped up by homebuyers.

Michael Fletcher, Managing Director of Ravensbury Homes, explained Ravensbank would be the first of several quality housing projects from his new residential development company.

He said: “I’ve launched Ravensbury Homes to create high-quality developments of varying house types, something a little bit different to the usual mass market schemes.

“For example, Ravensbank includes six different types of lay-out for the nine market-priced homes, and the majority of the units will have bespoke studies designed on the ground floor, providing dedicated spaces that reflect our new hybrid working.

“These homes’ proximity to the canalside and semi-rural location will give home-buyers the ability to get into the countryside quickly, but still be close to the motorway when they need to go to the office.”

Ravensbury Homes is using Bromsgrove-based contractor Tricas Contruction to build Ravensbank.

The Ravensbank name pays homage to John Corbett, a 19th century industrialist who based his salt works in Stoke Prior and built much of the village’s infrastructure. It reflects the “raven” on the crest of the Corbett family’s coat of arms, and the “bank” of the canal location.

As well as the five affordable homes in the project, Ravensbury Homes will contribute through Section 106 planning agreements towards providing additional school places and, more specifically, for improvements to the children’s play area on Shaw Lane, less than 100 metres away.

Matt Nicol is the Managing Director of Nicol & Co, which has a specialist Land and New Homes department alongside its operations in Droitwich Spa, Worcester and Malvern.

Mr Nicol said: “New homes in Stoke Prior have been selling like hotcakes and so this new Ravensbank development couldn’t have come at a better time.

“The specially crafted designs will be a real plus element and we are looking forward to handling what we predict will be strong interest in these new homes.”
