Shrewsbury developer brings forward launch of show home

A Shrewsbury housebuilder has brought forward the launch of its show home by three months following exceptionally strong interest in its new luxury riverside development that boasts raised level residents parking with ANPR security, electric vehicle charging, and an open-air internal courtyard. Over 20% of the development has already been reserved off-plan with completion anticipated by mid-2025.

SY Homes is developing 43 apartments, duplexes and apartments at Old Coleham Court, just minutes from the town’s iconic English Bridge and Abbey. Prices start from £229k for a one-bedroom apartment, through to £779k for the largest and most stunning of the penthouses that boasts fabulous views across Shrewsbury from its roof terrace. Eight of the properties are available at a discounted rate for eligible local residents. The show home is now due to launch on October 15 this year.

Designed and engineered in recognition of the development’s riverside location, Old Coleham Court offers a modern, state-of-the-art luxury lifestyle that will appeal to a wide range of purchasers.

Wayne Sidell, founding partner and director of SY Homes, comments:

“Located in the heart of Shrewsbury, Old Coleham Court offers top-end specifications with hotel-style communal facilities. We’ve invested heavily in the engineering, design, and specifications of this residence and the early interest we’ve secured from purchasers underlines this.

“Interest has been particularly strong from downsizers who wish to have a pied-a-terre here in the UK, whilst also investing in a property overseas, as well as amongst young professionals for whom the high-end finish is of utmost importance. For both audiences, the development’s proximity to Shrewsbury’s transport network and abundance of independent retailers and restaurants has proven to be a particular draw.”

Located on the site of a former car park and mechanics garage, Old Coleham Court is being built at an elevated level with the parking facilities sitting well above the 1-in-30-year flood event levels. The first-floor apartments are being constructed at 4.7m above ground level.

Wayne continues:

“We have been mindful from the outset that Old Coleham Court is in an area known to flood which is why we spent over three years collaborating with experts before work began on site. Amongst those experts, we’ve engaged the services of specialist architects, structural and civil engineers, construction consultants, groundwork engineers and experienced fabricators.

“We’ve also benefitted enormously from a close working relationship with the Environment Agency, Shropshire Council and local Coleham community groups, and extensive flood modelling has been carried out at all stages.”
