Sigma Homes opens Merrywood showhome

West Sussex-based housebuilder Sigma Homes has launched its latest show home at its exclusive £18m Merrywood development, in the highly sought-after Surrey village of Weston Green, Thames Ditton. Open for viewings, the stylish show home has been designed by interior designers Deco-id, with its exterior showcasing an ecologically-focused garden created by The Conscious Gardening Co.

The 1.2-acre scheme will deliver 26 generous eco-efficient homes, consisting of apartments and houses. The first phase of the development is soon to be completed, with 12 three-bedroom semi-detached houses now available to reserve.  The carefully-designed homes range from £1m to £1.175m, each offering 1,370 sq ft of high-quality accommodation to maximise space in one of the most exclusive neighbourhoods in the country.

The show home’s interiors are aimed at a wide demographic to include downsizers, professional couples, or families. A classic contemporary design style is featured throughout with references to its surroundings, such as statement wallpaper featuring local wildlife and decorative nods to nearby Bushey Park and Hampton Court Palace.

On trend warm clay, dusky blush pinks, and soft blue tones have been used, paired with darker pencil lines to highlight the striking architecture of the homes. Furniture in various earthy tones feature heavily, as well as stone and clay pottery, replicating the materials and colours used externally, to create a sense of flow from outdoors to indoors. Another strong theme for the interior is the emphasis on low impact and sustainable materials, prioritising UK-based manufacturing and craftsmanship.

The garden design focuses on functionality, but also creates an area which has numerous ecological benefits for the surrounding wildlife. It has two focal points with a large patio area, ideal outdoor living, and a further smaller patio at the rear of the garden with seating area and fire pit. The two are linked by a zig zag path that weaves through planting which acts as a nectar source all year round and encourages biodiversity.

Geoff Potton, chief executive of Sigma Homes, said: “We are delighted to have now opened a show home at Merrywood, and to allow potential buyers an opportunity to come and view these exceptional properties. This development is in an excellent and extremely desirable location, and has all the features a buyer would expect from a Sigma Home – beautifully constructed, expertly furnished and finished to the highest standard. The show home and gardens have been designed with an eco-focus and we want them to inspire purchasers as to how they can live in an energy efficient home.”

The three-bedroom homes have been designed across two and a half floors, each with a central entry hall and a separate cloakroom on the ground floor. This leads into a spacious open-plan kitchen/dining/family room to the rear, and an additional lounge to the front. The first floor has a guest room with ensuite, a further bedroom, family bathroom and a study, with the principal bedroom on the second floor with a dressing room and ensuite.

Each home benefits from solar PV panels, an EV charging point and is built to a high EPC-B rating. Inside, the homes feature contemporary handleless kitchens with Silestone quartz worktops and Neff appliances, Villeroy & Boch sanitary ware, fitted wardrobes to all bedrooms, and high-quality luxury vinyl tile flooring and carpeting provided as standard throughout. All homes also benefit from parking for two vehicles.

Merrywood and the village of Weston Green is highly sought after because of its easy connectivity into central London and nearby towns of Esher and Kingston-upon-Thames , the excellent range of quality schooling with Ofsted ‘outstanding’ rating – for all ages from primary to sixth form college – its array of picturesque buildings and traditional architecture, the outstanding parkland and riverside, and the thriving high street with restaurants, cafés, boutique shopping and community facilities offering  yoga classes, gardening clubs and more.

Thames Ditton train station (0.5 miles) is a short walk, which offers frequent 30-minute train services to London Waterloo. There are a further three train stations close by, providing journeys to London and further afield.
