Premium homebuilder Redrow picked up eight awards at the 2018 UK Property Awards, including a second for its almost completed Southbank venture in Newton Kyme.
The total transformation of the old Papyrus works, just off the A659, was a Residential Development Award winner for North Yorkshire, making it one of the best in the county.
Four other Redrow developments were named winners in their respective counties – with Tabley Green, near Preston earning a 5* prize, making it the best in Lancashire. Redow also picked up three awards for the interior design of two show homes and a sales centre.
All eight awards were announced during the official ceremony which took place at the Royal Lancaster, London, with Redrow competing against some of the most talented property professionals from across the UK.
Patsy Aicken, Sales Director at Redow Homes (Yorkshire), said: “We put Southbank forward as we were very proud of the new homes and the beautiful environment that surrounds them.
“We have created two developments side-by-side; The Rectory, which features our arts & crafts inspired Heritage Collection and St Andrew’s Place, which boasts Georgian inspired Regent Collection homes.
“Alongside them we have created large areas of open space, including a tree-lined village green, as well as restoring a historic clock tower and refurbishing a Grade II listed viaduct that will eventually form part of a new cycling and walking route between Wetherby and Tadcaster.
“To have all of this recognised at the UK Property Awards is an honour, but even more important to us, is the approval of our customers – the fact that only two properties are left to sell at St Andrew’s Place before the 141-property development comes to an end would suggest the homeowners are very much in favour too.”
The UK Property Awards were judged by an independent panel of 80 industry experts, with judging focussed on design, quality, service, innovation, originality and commitment to sustainability.
