Strata raises the roof with six-figure donation

From sky diving to mud runs, cake bakes to karting, Strata has concluded a year-round fundraising campaign that has generated an impressive £104,013 for its 2017 charity of the year – Danielle’s Flutterbyes.

Breaking all previous fundraising records the Strata team, its suppliers, family and friends all joined together to stage an ambitious twelve months of charitable activity to raise much-needed funds for Danielle’s Flutterbyes, which aims to help young people suffering from kidney disease.

Strata’s Charity and Events Manager, Leonie Weaver, comments: “When we first met Danielle’s Flutterbyes we were moved by their emotional story and completely inspired by the work that they are doing to help young people with kidney disease. We simply wanted to help them on their journey!

“We have been overwhelmed by the fundraising efforts of everyone that has chosen to get involved; not just the money raised but by the support, genuine passion and sheer determination to make a difference to this wonderful charity.

“Whether combating their fears by jumping out of a plane or cooking up a storm for our bake sale, everyone gave 100 per cent. We simply cannot thank them enough.”

Ruth Braddock, from Danielle’s Flutterbyes comments: “Words really don’t do justice to how we feel about the support that Strata has given us. We are a small charity and these funds will make a huge difference now and in the future as we set our sights on supporting even more young people suffering from kidney disease.

“In the last 12 months we have made some wonderful friends through this relationship and we cannot wait to share the details of how this money has helped so many young people.”

Ruth, alongside her daughter Sarah Taylor and family friend Fiona Forgham, set up the charity in memory of her daughter Danielle, who sadly lost her battle against kidney disease in 2014.

Danielle’s Flutterbyes will use the funds raised to help young people suffering from kidney disease by funding activities, holidays, days out and equipment to make life easier while they’re receiving treatment.
