Tilia Homes unveils sculpture project

Tilia Homes Central welcomed some special guests to its Manor Kingsway development, in Derby, to celebrate the official unveiling of its community art sculptures.

Mayor of Derby, Councillor Alan Graves, joined pupils of Bemrose Primary School to meet members of the artist team and learn about what makes the sculptures such special additions to the Manor Kingsway development, on Kingsway Boulevard.

The pieces of art, designed by Sculpture Works artists Denis O’Connor and Bernadine Ritter, have been installed across the development as place markers for residents and guests to enjoy.

The artworks, which are centred around wellbeing, the importance of biodiversity, and horticulture, make specific reference to wildflowers and plants associated with healing properties, and fruits, vegetables and culinary herbs that will grow at the Manor Kingsway allotments.

As part of the celebrations, Tilia Homes Central made a £250 contribution to Bemrose Primary School, which has an active arts programme.

Lizzie Burda, Sales and Marketing Director for Tilia Homes Central, comments: “We all had a lovely morning officially unveiling the beautiful artworks at Manor Kingsway and would like to thank all our guests for making the event so memorable.

“To have bespoke artwork displayed so proudly at our development for our homeowners and visitors alike is very special and just another way we try to make our homes and communities individual and places people are proud to call home.

“This project has been such an exciting process to be a part of and it’s wonderful to see the sketches and design elements all come to fruition. Denis and Bernadine are extremely talented and we’ve no doubt the current and future residents at Manor Kingsway will be enjoying the pieces for many years to come.”
